Cara Ayres is passionate about….cattle, the world community, mountains, music, humor, and self-realization, who has had the great fortune of living a magical life. Born in Rochester, NY to Erma and Bob Pascalar, Cara dreamed of being surrounded by animals in her early childhood. This dream became her reality when the family uprooted and moved to a small ranch in Sweet Home, Oregon when Cara was nine years old. Cara sang happily to all her 4H projects as if that old barn in Sweet Home were a stage. Cara ended her Jr Angus years as the National Vice Chairman as well as their Miss American Angus.
Cara attended Oregon State University, where she worked at the Meats Lab as well as the OSU Beef Barns and Feedlot. It was there, while feeding the cattle and belting Patsy Cline that she caught the ear of a local country western band leader and was tagged to join as the female vocalist of “Wild Ride”, where she remained for four years. Cara again sang happily as she helped pay for rent and feed bills with her weekend “gigs”, through her undergrad and graduate years. With fiddle player (Steve Kenyon) intact, “Wild Ride” morphed into “Nothin But Trouble” and the group (Rich Bowlin, Billy Lakey, Rowan Nicholas, & Brad Charlie)played happily for another four years, finding themselves on the great stage at the Oregon Jamboree! Cara was thrilled to be working at Linn-Benton Community College and often referred to this four year stay as her “dream job”. Her husband Tom was hired to manage a conception to consumption Angus ranch in Western Montana. The move proved successful with marketing bulls and registered females. The couple continues to build Ayres Angus as well as put on an annual Production Sale, The Dynamic Divas of Montana.
Missing her own voice she opted to walk into an audition at the Chantilly Theater. The day Cara said yes to herself was the day she met her partner, Beth Schreiber. The two became a strong supporter of each other’s lives. After six years of performing in their local community theater the two women who shared a deep love of music, joy, and the human spirit, decided to create an organization that could raise funds through entertainment for humanitarian causes. Their brainchild was named, Take Two Productions, and its first original work is “Suds ‘n Suds”. Cara is excited about life everyday and is thrilled to be able to spread joy and funding all over the place!
